DK's New Abode and the Anti-Housewarming on Sunday 10/03




So B and I popped in to visit DK at his new residence on Sunday night, we were meant to be there at 8:30pm or so but, unfortunately, due to some crossed wires, we were about half an hour late. And before you say anything B, yes, the crossed wires were my fault. My bad!! But I know you will blogback to that anyway.




We arrived with some refreshments; Fortune Cookies and Vienetta, always a good combination. And since we are such giving people, we also brought along a few trinkets for the DK Home, some must-haves for anyone starting out. Among these included a bottle of vanilla essence, some Dettol, some spices, a handy plastic container to store leftovers(it has a little vent in the lid and everything), and my personal favourite, a Meat Thermometer. So DK knows when his roast is well done or rare.




Since we were so fashionably late, Georgiana and Shane were already there with Droidy and DK, and Rodney arrived a little later. We got a quick tour of the house, which was neat and not as sparsely furnished as I had thought it might be!! DK has furniture, and while some rooms(okay, most rooms) are still in the 'I just moved in' stage, the place looks promising and already had a homely feel.




The house is subtly decorated in muted tones, and the facilities are all in good working order.



Okay, at this point, I am realising that there isn't much to say!! Not that DK's place wasn't cool, which it is, but how can you review a house?? I don't have the real estate skills necessary to adequately describe it, so I'll just say that it is a very, very good house and I'm sure DK will like living there.




Anwyay, the highlight of the night really was the scintillating conversations shared by the guests, I enjoyed getting to know DK's friends and sharing our fortunes from the cookies. I forgot to keep one of mine which said to keep the paper and make notes on it at my next business meeting. Yes, yes, that reminds me, I really should schedule that meeting. Get your people to call my people sometime. Do you have my card?? Good.




On a more serious note, the cordial lacked a little bite. But otherwise a standout night, I urge you all to visit, bookings required. All major credit cards accepted. And behaviour standards apply: No throwing TVs off the roof, no bashing holes in plaster walls. You'll have to ask DK about any dress standards which may apply.




I can' think of anything else to mention, apart from the fact that DK has a cool collection of CD's, videos and DVD's which are the focus of the lounge room, I hadn't seen them before, and I want to borrow some!!
