GARBAGE:The Metro Nightclub, Melbourne. Tuesday 29th January, 2002

Well, i went off to work in the morning, tired and with my ears ringing...but it was all good as i was going to see GARBAGE with Em that night.....

I was late picking up Em, due to serious wardrobe dillemmas (i think i have been hanging out with Em and Jules too much...their wardrobe dillemmas have rubbed off...and lateness aspect.....), decided to put on jeans, docs and sparkley top from Dotti...(can't find a link)!...picked up Em...and stopped at a servo to get petrol (no shit sherlock!) as i didn't fancy pushing and a V drink...that came with a free chuppa chup....see...why do i still buy energy drinks when i beleive they are a placebo...??

So we arrived in teh city, safely despite some erractic driving on my behalf...and was amazed at teh long queue to get in...it went down teh street and around the corner...so we waited patiently....i remarked how stupid it was to wait (i always have something to complain about!)....but queue went quick...

Em and i stood near the front on the dance floor adn had a good old gossip and bitch before Machine Gun Fellatio came on.

I had never seen Machine Gun Fellatio before, but well, they are funny! They had lots of people performing in the band, and the girl took off her top and had tassle thingys on her boobs...a guy totally went nude and only had a winnie the pooh thing that looked like it belonged on a gold club on his willy, and at the end, there were about 3 band memebrs on stilts on the stage, along with the rest of the band....they had girls on rollerblades singing, and the lead singer looked like he was dressed up as a telletubbie...but they were certainly an entertainment...

Then it was time for GARBAGE, the crows squashed in and they opened up with Push It. After a few songs, well, only took really one, i discovered that the guy infront of me waas really annoying...he danced dumb and danced like he had a lot of space which he didn't, and his dancing was annoying...annoyign me adn a couple of others.....don't they realise how dumb they look?
shirley went up into the crowd once and i think during anohter song she fell off the stage...but still kept singing.....i think she fell anyway....she almost cried after a slow song "Drive You Home" i think...(it was a while ago now)....but they were great...Em and i had fun jumping and singing....

they did not sing kylie's song....i think they gave that up after the reception, or lack of, that they received at teh melb BDO

Apparently Cherry Lips is about JT, one of her friends and they had a fake encore....why do bands insist on a fake encore???
She hadnt' even played "only happy when it rains" so you know there is going to be an encore....
so they came back, sang a couple of new songs, and shirley got three girls from the crowd on stage to sing "only happy when it rains" with her...wish it was me!!!!
it was a great concert, they played the songs i wanted them too bar two or three...but i had fun!

Em and i got some ice cream and drinks and talked about the concert while eating and drinking, and doing the quick skim over the cd songs to refresh our minds.....

but on the way home, we had the music pumping to dance (basement jaxx, groove armada, DJ alligator project) and we were going off in the car.....we were feeling silly...!

So b and e had fun and yet another wonderful garbage concert and survived another day of each other......although we might struggle for a conversation on for vibes!
