The Gap Into… Triva Team

Or the Wedding Party??

This past Sat saw the inaugural The Gap Into… trivia team score well at the Intr’acte Trivia Night. In attendance were Decay, [0,0], Em, b, Jules and DK the Elder.

This past Sat saw the inaugural The Gap Into… trivia team score well at the Intr’acte Trivia Night. In attendance were Decay, [0,0], Em, b, Jules and DK the Elder.

The team came a respectable 3rd out of 8 teams although the best wins of the night came elsewhere. The Raffle (a large basket of Chocolates) went to the team and they also (surprisingly) took out the “Name as many Beatles Songs as you can” competition. This particular feat was helped along by the fact that DK the Elder had that very afternoon been to a theatre production based on Beatles songs and so had quite a few running through the old grey matter. ;)

Aside from these major type prizes (more Choc and a Beatles Cd for the latter) we also managed several Smartie awards throughout the night. One particularly springs to mind when asked for the Roman numeral equivalent for XCIX (Yes they said the question incorrectly!) we also gave then binary and would have given them hex but ran out of time! We also picked up a couple of smaller raffle prizes (with Decay and DK The Elder taking back the blank CD’s they donated in the first place!)

There was a particularly funny remark from b but I cannot for the life of me remember anyone??

Only the one notable argument from decay to the questions, don’t ask him re stars pointing to other stars for a while.

Overall the standard of the questions was relatively easy with a great music round, it was just a pity about the sound system to hear a couple of the songs

All in all a good night.

B remarkable funny comment - which also won her the first smarties award for the night:
(funny thing was i didn't mean to be smart!)

q: "who will host the 2002 commonwelth(?) games"
b answers: Eddie McGuire
real answer: Manchester

the thing was in which i really didn't say on the night...
i was actually being serious...that is why i didn't say it loudly....
i completely interpreted the question as a person hosting it (didn't think country wise) and though "well, out of all the people out there who would on tv host it?"
so the truth is out...bag me all you like but you know it is a genuine b thing to say and think...!

and yes...last time i checked my hair was still brown.....

It was a fun night indeed ... I do feel a bit sorry for the Engineering/etc friends I managed to drag along for the night ... finishing last (61/120) was probably not how they envisaged themselves doing ... although I did make the comment that it was pretty much in the engineer's ethic to scrape through with a pass (: Hopefully I haven't scarred/scared them too much, and they'll be back next year for another dose !
