Scooby Doo?? er...Scooby Don't!!

I'm mainly posting this review coz The Gap Into has been rather quiet lately...maybe since I referred to you guys as members of a cult, you've all taken it personally and have chosen to abstain from posting for 40 days.

Anyway, I've seen 4 movies in the past 2 weeks, despite being in 'exam mode', last nite it was 'Scooy Doo'. Scooby Doo is a very silly movie. The highlight for me was the preview for 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' which looks all action packed and very Hollywood-ised, but it's Harry so it's all good.

Previews aside, kids will like Scooby Doo and it's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it could have been so much more. Sarah Michelle G as Daphne was kinda annoying, I felt like saying 'Be Buffy Goddamnit!!' coz she didn't have much to work with at all was was parading around in ridiculously short/tight/skimpy clothing for most of the movie. Freddie P was okay as Fred, Shaggy was good and Velma was the one I liked the most at the end of the movie, go Velmster. Scooby has always sh*tted me up the wall, ever since I was a little kid(he's SO DUMB!! I never understood the appeal of this show) and was irritating as usual, though not as grating as I had thought. There were some quite funny bits, and special effects are well done but I think that if this movie wasn't G-rated it could have been far more clever/witty/used more adult undertones...oh well.

I'm keeping this review short and sweet for once, mainly coz I'm not that motivated to write lots about it!! Em's verdict: 'Shrug'

So Em's signing off now, but not without linking another useful test...What kind of Butt Are You??

Bye!!
Em.

scooby is cute...."raggy?" .....he is a dog...he is supposed to be dumb....i can't remember scooby as a kid....i think i watched more of the smurfs and looney tunes than scooby but some parts in scooby was funny....but i am with em on this one though...wait for the video....i didn't even recognise freddie p at the beginning with his dorky haircut and blonde hair! he so should stay a brunette.....!

using adlut undertones though em in scooby just would wreck it - scooby is a kids thing....everything gets wrecked by using adults stuff in it....

OK from a Scooby fan from way back I loved the movie!

There were all the scooby gags that you come to expect from a scooby episode. And the villian. That was a classic spin on what we all felt watching it as kids.

They changed the Daphane character slightly (Buffyed it a bit) but it worked. Shaggy was really spot on for the cartoon.

All in all We laughed most of the way through the movie so I felt my money was well spent.

I think it might have been better if they actually gave Daphne a character...she didn't really do much for me. And the bit where she kissed Fred at the end was a bit unnecessary. I thought the whole point of Scooby Doo was that the bad guy was always the old janitor dressed up as a ghost. And the monsters are supposed to be fake. What's going on, what's happening here??
