I have a new game show idea: "Where in the film was this song played?" They
could get the soundtrack CDs from popular films and play songs from them.
The contestants would have to guess what scene they were played in,
or maybe which half of the film. To be honest, I think it would be
pretty good going to work out whether the song was played at all! I'm
currently listening to the Spider-Man soundtrack, and of the 19 tracks, I
think I can spot where 3 of them appear in the film, and this is a film I
watched on Sunday night!!!
Do movie studios deliberately put tiny snippets of songs in films, just so
they can include them on the CD? And when did the soundtrack go from
a record of music played in the film, to a various artists CD with bugger-all
thematic link??
