The movie is about Adam Sandler's character Barry Ekans. He has a boring job and his life just plods along. He also has seven sisters... they constatly hassle him and tease him. After turning up to one of his sister's birthday parties he confides in, another of, his sister's husband about his personal problems and how he hates himself sometimes and so on. The movie takes a turn for the weird when Barry decides to ring up a phone sex hot line to cure his lonelyness...
Having followed Sandler's work for a short while I was not sure what to really expect from the movie. I can tell you now that if you were looking for Sandler's normal funnyman antics you won't find them here. Although the dialogue and acting may be funny, there are many a scene where you just end up feeling sorry for Barry as it almost seems as if everyone he meets double crosses him or blackmails him. Imagine "Fargo" crossed with "Joe versus the Volcano" and you'll get something oh a picture.
In short this movie is dark, its disturbing and most of all, deep down, its a feel-good romantic comedy. I recommend you take some time off or what ever and go see it...
