Job changes, new DVDs, even a new CD... read on for relatively (un-?) eventful Mobyness...
[Updated 16/7/03 - more toys..]
It's been while since I've contributed here, but I'm here now..
It's taken 2 years, 10 - 15 applications, 6 or 7 interviews, 5 or 6 knockbacks but FINALLY(!) I have a new place to call home between the hours of 8.30ish am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
A decent amount of money, a plush view looking to the east side of the city from way on up high in thew CBD; (so far) great co-workers; and an interesting workload. I'd love to bag the crap out of my old workplace (more so it's conditions rather than people), but one shouldn't burn their bridges even after one has crossed them. Not that anyone would really recognise me from this site or who I'm talking about, but hey I digress.. I'm still working in law/legal, just a different area with a lot more places to go... In some respects crime does pay, it just depends on who pays more... :)
I suppose the only downside to a new job is the zillion and one faces & names I have to remember. It really is no fun. Of course to top it all off, I received an email today from some faceless entity informing yours truly that by Thursday, I'm required to submit a photo along with the answers to a series of questions such as favourite music, food etc etc. That in itself doesn't really bother me. It's the fact that it's to be published on the intranet site that most concerns (read alarms) me. Just so several hundred people across the country can see the new kid on the block.. the tiniest amoeba at the bottom of the pond... Maybe it might be time to borrow the Moby pic DK uses here :]. So things are looking promising. So far.
[Just to complicate things, on muy second day there (last Tuesday), the HR section from an organisation I'd previously been rejected at interview in February 03, contacted me with an offer. It never rains it fucking pours!!!!! Thanks, but no thanks. I was at least informed my name would be kept on their books for at least another 8 months]
Now with more money, it's time for more toys. I'm keen on a 5.1 speaker set-up for the lounge room, however a certain Mrs Moby may need some convincing. My argument that 5.1 would compliment the Xbox isn't holding a great deal of water at this point in time. And ADSL will kick in WHEN I quit smoking! Grrrrrr....
Anyway as to new DVDs:
Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000, Ben Harper: Pleasure & Pain, Natural Born Killers, Monsters, inc & Run Lola Run
A new CD (& not one downloaded either): Joy Division: The BBC Sessions
New to the Xox collection:
Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Star Wars: Clone Wars
Drool list:
68cm pure flat screen TV, 5.1 speakers, The Cure: Trilogy DVD & a house
Oh and just to emphasise how lazzzy I am, I still haven't seen the Matrix, let alone Re-loaded....
Oh and finally.. thank-you to Notetab Lite for the *ahem* HTML thingys.....
[EDIT: UPDATE]
Grinz... I now have the 68cm flatscreen, 5.1 speakers & ADSL (almost - in a day or two)
I didn't really know Pearl Jam, New Order, RTCW, Harry Potter & Pulp Fiction could look & sound so good in a lounge room... :)
Now. What's next?
/me looks around for more toys...
