After a night's sleep, Decay and I did some touristy things today... well, once we did the wake up and get out of the hotel thing ... One of the first things we did to day after grabbing some hot breakfast in the hotel restaurant (fyi, bacon, eggs, potato bits, and toast for Decay, and some pancakes with butter and syrup for me) was to find somewhere to buy us some gloves... and because it was the first place we saw when we thought of getting gloves, we went to Gap ... Decay found some polar fleece type dark blue gloves, and I found some green gloves in the kids section ... gloves are definitely good for keeping fingers unfrozen ...
We wandered around, walked to the Empire State Building, then went up it, and found it was even more freezing up at the top ... it was a pretty clear view from the top ... you could see the Statue of Liberty ... we also went to the Rockefeller Plaza to see ... Christmas lights during the day, and people not falling over much on the ice-skating rink.
We went back to the hotel room sometime in the afternoon ... and what was going to be just a small nap turned into a really long nap... and we woke up going ... huh? And, decided we should go out to dinner... although the chance to be served dodgy chinese food by drag queens was rather enticing (that may still happen), we ended up at Lombardi's for some yummy pizza ... although both Decay and I still think Piccolinos do a better pizza ... their vulcan (pepperoni-type thing?) is a pretty difficult one to beat ... After this yummy food, we caught a taxi to Rockefeller Plaza to see the Christmas lights at night ... and got called Crazy Lovebirds by someone trying to sell us roses... Decay wanted to tell her, "You want me, to buy my wife some dead plant life, as a symbol of my love to her... Are you talkin' to me?", but he declined ...
One thing I have to say about taxi drivers in New York so far - they're insane drivers - I keep feeling like I'm in a game of crazy taxi every time we hop into one ... the whole indicating thing doesn't seem to happen, but at least they know the width of their cars ...
Tomorrow, I'm not sure what we're doing in the morning, but we're meeting up with some people Decay knows from work at about lunchtime, so I'd best get some shuteye... after doing some research to find out what we can do in the morning before then ...
