Well, probably not hitting the right audience here but I feel like it so I am going to talk about World Idol.

World Idol kicked off on Boxing Day where Em hosted her "World Idol Birthday BBQ". We sat down and watched it...hmm...some contestants were pretty poor...but a good laugh.

Big Ballads seemed to be the bit of the night and the judges pretty much slammed everyone but alex, the polish chic, had a bit of attitude when she told her polish judge that she well, hated him.

We saw a pretty edited version of World Idol and some comments were pretty harsh, Guy apparently looks weird but had the best voice, Kurt is ugly and if it was a radio competetition he would have a chance of winning, Heinz has stunning good looks and Alexandar was just awful, the dude from Belgium put Kurt Cobain to shame or something like that...and that is what I can only remember.

Anyway, I think the key to winning these comps is to sing a song that is popular, upbeat and that everyone knows. I think this was Guy's mistake - I think he should have sung "When Doves cry" or "Crazy in Love"...something like that. I think that is how Kurt won. He sung U2's "Beautiful Day" - a huge hit in all countries involved and sung it well, he sounded just like Bono, but well, I don't think he changed the song to make it his own but hey.

Kelly Clarkson looks like she is heading down a Christina Augelira look chaging from the nice girl next door image.

Anyway, the votes were tallied and seemed pretty consistent. Kelly always one vote behind Kurt, Guy lagging behind in 6th or 7th place, Ryan from Canada, Peter from Belgium and Heinz from South Africa, Will Young from the UK always somewhere in the middle and Alexandar (Germany), Alex (Poland), Jami (Holland) and Diane (Pan Arabic) at the bottom.

then the twist came when the Arab nations voted...
top votes went to Alexandar from Germany, with Guy, Kelly, Will and Ryan all getting the bottom votes!!! Hmm...wonder why??

One suprsing result, possibel mercy vote?, was when Amercia gave Diane from the Arab Nations 8 votes....interesting....

Anyway, I think Guy is better than a 7th place. But that is my opinion. America is dirty becuase they couldn't vote for Kelly Clarkson (get over it, you have a huge population as if other countries could compete)

I don't know how they can call it World Idol when only 11 countries are involved. Pretty much just a publicity stunt for the Idols to get known in other countries perhaps and for the phone companies to make more money...

damn...dialling up to the internet to write this review just gave the phone companies money too! it works in more ways than one!
