Reality TV has sunk to its lowest, and cheapest, depths when it uses normal people's video camera footage. This style of show is probably going to begin to take over from "Big Brother"/"Survivor" shows where there is big money thrown into sets/catering/presenters and the like. TV is all about getting big bucks from advertisers while spending little bucks on programs.

To be fair, though, much as I hate the current crop of reality shows, are they any worse than the homogenous, brain dead crap that we were fed before? I mean, people who want to watch intelligent programs still are, and they aren't flocking to "Big Brother" or "Australian Idol"! Think of every good show you have watched, and you'll find most of them were on late at night, or, if in a decent hour, were on the ABC or SBS.

Face it, we live in a world of mediocrity!!

I agree RE crapness of Reality TV but sometimes its priceless...I just sneaked a few guilty moments watching a former Miss America's face drop as she realised that the guys she would be spending the next X weeks/days with were 'Regular Joes'. Too good.

That said, its unlikely they would ever have a 'Regular Jane' show - "watch one hot guy search for his soulmate among 20 Plain Janes! Will he discover that True Love doesn't always come in a perfect package?"

american idol is so bad but it is funny...
the expressions and watching people to are tone deaf and have no co ordination is actually quite amusing...

didn't getto see average joe and the girl's face drop...maybe they will repeat that bit next week?

ahhh good old channel ten they thought that they would bombard us with reality crap and they would win the ratings,doesnt look like its going to happen.
they are now giving the sponsors of hot house and the island show free advertising during other shows knowing that people will actually be watching them.
poor channel 10 its time you to give up the reality concept sack the mangement who pushed the direction and start giving shows like NYPD BLUE the respect they deserve.
but it wont happen because you seem to be happy to always come last.
