RSO:T Day 5

Today involved a whole bunch of driving. First up, there was driving to the Shotover Jet place again, to pick up Lumpy's keys and have a coffee, then there was much winding road to Wanaka. We stopped at the tourist information booth to work out where Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World was located, and then headed on towards ... Puzzling World!

Puzzling World was good fun - it was a bit wet for all of us to want to do the outside maze, but the cafe's tables had piles of puzzles to do while food was being eaten. Decay has pictorial proof of having conquered some of the puzzles, others were painful. The holograms and Ames Room were fun, the weirded out perspective room really stuffed around with your head. Especially after a windy car trip. The first thing I wanted to do when I walked in there was to sit down.

The weather was being quite unfun for us today, so we didn't stop as much as we probably could have... we actually only stopped at one of 5 waterfalls in one area - Thunder creek Falls was really quite impressive, and I do a good impersonation of a bedraggled rat. Fox Glacier was another stop we did to stretch our legs, although we didn't see the Glacier as it was 4km away from the town. Dinner was at Franz Josef Glacier's town, and it was caf food at restaurant prices. Meh. It was hot and filling and palatable. Probably a better deal than large pizzas for 29.50. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy as listening content was really good for this long day of driving. G tried to buy a pair of pants from the store at Franz Josef but the salesperson wasn't helping to make sales with the comment she made. Meh, G's a resilient person, layers are the way to keep warm (;

We checked in at our motel in Greymouth at sometime around 10pm. We met a very friendly rat dog that wold not be able to knock over a Droidy, named Maggie, or was it Meggie? There were actually two of these dogs but only one of them was around to say hi to all of us. She was very happy to play fetch, super quick she was too (: The night was beer and Poker for the boys, Gameboy (Final Fantasy 2) for Droidy, and Jerry Springer for G. Eventually a night was called, and much sleep was had on a firm bed. W00t!
