Ever felt like making a coffin shape handbag? Well I have and tonight I decided to give it a go.

And in true rantspace style, have kept a photo journal of the process –

First I made a cut out shape,

Then I stuck it all together

After choosing a nice purple plaid fabric I started to line the outside of my coffin

Once I had finished lining the outside, I lined the inside of the coffin with some plain purple fabric

And this is the stage that I am current up to, need to get more supplies tomorrow. stay tuned for the finished product some time in the future.

Well the handbag was finished this afternoon, and it doesn't look to bad for a first attemp.

So from where i left off - i purchased some supplies to help me finish the bag, a zip and some black cord.

First i sewed the cord on so the bag could be easily slang over my shoulder.

Then i spent many long hours sewing a zip all the way around

and last but not least i finished lining the inside with the same purple fabric as the lid

So here it is the finished item.
