Last weekend while M34tb4LL and I were out and about we realised we were not going to get very far without a re-fill of petrol. The price happened to be especially high, but either you pay the price they want or don’t go anywhere. Now if we did a weeks worth of groceries at a time we might have some petrol dockets to drop the price the a little, but when you buy what you need one meal at time petrol dockets are harder to come by.
So there we were at the petrol station, about to pay $1.18 per litre when the lady behind the counter asks if we had a docket, “No” and then a voice behind us says “oh well here take one of mine”. A rather hairy gentleman stepped up the counter, opens his wallet, and hands the lady a docket. He smiled at us and said “I have more than I can use” and then he left.
It was small gesture and he did not really lose anything by it, but it was such a nice thing to do for a couple of strangers.
